Websites / FIELD GUIDE

A better home for your website workflow.

From the first content draft to the next public release, website administration is a chain of small decisions. Give content, code, assets, and publishing rights a clear place in that chain.

Choose the publishing shape

Start with who edits the site and what changes most often. A static artifact, a generator-based project, and a database-backed publishing system have different handoffs. Select a workflow that fits your editors and the kind of state the website needs to preserve.

Separate source from public output

Identify the material visitors should receive and the material that belongs only in the working project. Keep private drafts, configuration, and credentials outside the public release. Verify the final artifact rather than assuming the source tree is safe to upload unchanged.

Make release review a habit

Review a direct article link, a navigation path, images, and a narrow-screen layout before publishing. Assign an owner for canonical URLs, sitemap entries, and feed consistency. Then verify the public destination after the release, not just the build result.

Choose your next path.
